Penne with meat sauce.
We just returned from a tsunami warning. All that stress needs to be abated. So, regardless of my menu plans, this is what I want to eat, with a great glass of wine!
How about you?
What comfort food do you crave when you've been stressed? If you can't find my meat sauce recipe here, let me know and i'll include it in a comment.

Looks wonderful! The wine is a nice touch! My comfort food of choice is also an easy pasta...either spaghetti with oil and garlic (al aglio) or spaghetti with garlic, oil and a can of tuna. Just makes everything right again. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat does look good. I only want junk food when I'm stressed - not very healthy!
ReplyDeleteStay safe! x
My comfort food faves really depend on my mood - anything from a plate of nachos to some old fashioned meat loaf with mashed potatoes. But you can never go wrong with pasta.
ReplyDeleteThat pasta looks delicious, but I would have to say fried shrimp! Glad that you are safe!
ReplyDeleteMy comfort food is baked bean casserole, beans on the bottom topped with alternate layers of sliced potatoes, fried onions and cheese then baked in the oven. Very fattening but if you want comfort then forget the calories and tuck in :O)
ReplyDeleteThis has been my comfort food for about 45 years! Each part of the meal must be there or it doesn't work for me in the same way: A baked potato and sweet corn are the sides. The main course is a simple casserole made with one 16oz can of salmon (red or pink) and 5 oz of sour cream -- when in the US I use fat free sour cream -- the s. cream and salmon are blended together in a small casserole dish and baked in the oven at 400/200 for 20 minutes and served on two English muffin halves. Absolutely comforting and absolutely simple!
ReplyDeleteMy comfort food--a really great burger from the grill with all the accompaniments. The trouble is I want the fries from a restaurant. The restaurant burgers are too fat usually.
ReplyDeleteOr french toast, bacon and fried potatoes Yummmmmm.
Carbs, carbs and more carbs are what settle me, that or running off excess energy. Glad you had nothing more than a 'warning' to deal with.
